This is one of three trucks for the locomotive. The unfinished
cast-iron wheels are just propped up in place to show the approximate location
in where they will be mounted. The steel shaft to the right is one of the two
uncut axels per truck. To give an idea on size of the truck, the wheels are
approximately 4" in diameter.
Note: Since my garage is not heated and other priorities have
taken up my time, the project was shelved for the winter. Once grad school is
over for the Spring '04 term, I will have the opportunity to continue working
on the Shay.
